WHAT IS HEPATITIS B?

  • Hepatitis B is the most common liver disease in the world; in fact, this has affected millions of people all over the world. This disease is caused by Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), which can cause cirrhosis and liver cancer later in life. This virus can be transmitted by contacting infected blood, having unprotected sexual intercourse, sharing/reusing needles, and giving birth to a child whose mother is infected.
